#Oracle steps in, booting out #Microsoft and #Walmart from acquiring US operations from it's current holder #ByteDance. It is unclear yet whether Oracle is going to be just the technology partner for Tic-Toc's US operations or would actually acquire US ops in its entirety.
However, as the Chinese Government issued new export restrictions last month that restricts transfers of the type of #AI algorithms #TicToc employs which determine video delivery (probably because of which it got banned).
This changes the landscape if the Oracle - ByteDance negotiations but either way, the move will help Oracle gain a significant start in the Social Media space.
I believe it could bolster its #cloud platform too.
